Great location and reasonably priced but you get what you pay for. Very basic facilities. Check in was inefficient and there was confusion over cash payment that we made but no receipt provided. Rooms are tired and dated, ok size wise but bathrooms are tiny. Hot water was very temperamental. No hairdryer or tea/coffee making facilities. The light switches and plug socket are in the middle of the headboard which meant we kept accidentally turning them on in the night and couldn’t charge overnight as the cable would be across the bed. There is one other socket in the room and one in the bathroom. Didn’t use the TV. Safe available at additional cost. Bed was comfortable and maid service came a couple of times with fresh towels. Location is quite noisy but earplugs will solve if you are a light sleeper. Our room was above the entrance where people seem to gather to smoke which made the room smell at times. Luggage lockers available for €2 if needed. Breakfast room functional but lacks atmosphere. Reasonable selection of buffet items, quality not great though.

Absolutely horrendous arrived on Tuesday 2nd April was meant to stay until Friday 5th April but flew back a day early. The hotel over all was clean didn’t manage to have the breakfast due to lack of sleep so not getting up in time the hotel is very very noisy doors banging guests crashing around above at 4-5 in the morning and you can literally hear every single sound from people using their toilet to running the water, flushing the chain. So if your like myself and my partner looking for a fairly quiet and relaxed hotel to unwind after a busy day then I’d pass. Barcelona itself was beautiful a shame we had to cut our trip short.

Right if you are looking for luxury then this hotel probably isn’t for you! But………..we stayed in room 304 - best bed I’ve ever slept on! Shower also super powerful. Room was clean and staff are super helpful & friendly - having read some of the previous negative reviews I was very dubious and nearly changed to another hotel prior to our holiday - I’m so glad I didn’t! Honestly probably the best budget hotel I’ve stayed in! Fantastic position- 30 second walk to SANT PAU RECINTE MODERNISTA - well worth a look around the building/architecture is absolutely phenomenal. Sagrada Família is only 10 minute walk. There are two different hop on hop off bus stops right here too! Honestly couldn’t have booked a better position - at the time of our stay (9-16 March) the buffet breakfast was €7.50 per person- plenty of choice and well worth the money! Added bonus there’s also a patisserie right opposite! We will definitely return and book here again.

Clean,quiet ,honest hotel. Room are fairly spacious with en suit toilet,shower. The hotel is a short walk to Sagrada familia, some good cafe for breakfast, and 2 fast food outlet open till late The hotel offer a good breakfast buffet for a good price. The staff are friendly and attentive to customers request.

I had a recent stay at Htop BCN City, which was unfortunately overshadowed by the unprofessional conduct of the concierge team, especially an individual claiming to be the owner's son. This interaction has unfortunately left a persistently negative impression on me. Instead of a warm welcome upon our arrival, we faced hostility. The behavior of the concierge was not just cold, but also demeaning and discriminatory, far from what you'd expect in a hospitality environment. Our experience deteriorated further when we were unfairly accused of being noisy for merely having our TV on in the room. This baseless claim, along with a condescending comment that "Hotels are for rest," was not only insulting but also showed a disregard for us as guests. I was particularly disturbed by the concierge's apparent sense of invulnerability, likely due to his claimed connection to the hotel's owner. This behavior points to a problematic culture of nepotism within the hotel, compromising accountability and negatively impacting the guest experience. Experiencing such unprofessionalism in a place that should be setting the standard for customer service was both shocking and unacceptable. This incident has not only spoiled our stay but also prevents me from recommending Htop BCN City to anyone. I urge the hotel management to take this critique seriously. The reputation of a hotel depends largely on how it treats its guests, and in this case, Htop BCN City falls drastically short of the mark. When we tried to discuss and resolve this misunderstanding, the concierge responded with further disrespect. We were told that merely asking a question was considered disrespectful, forcing us into compliance with their unjust demands and leaving us feeling demeaned and mistreated. It's alarming that a hotel, which is supposed to excel in customer service, permits such unprofessional behavior. The lack of understanding, politeness, and basic respect from the concierge has greatly marred our view of Htop BCN City. I advise future guests to be cautious of this potential treatment, and I hope the management will reevaluate their staff training and approach to customer service. ... and it smells terrible.
